“Missions” Organizations & Involvement

Woman’s Missionary Union is a Protestant missions organization for women. It is the largest such organization in the world with approximately 1 million members. Purpose: To educate and involve adults, youth, children and preschoolers in the study of and participation in Christian Missions. CVBC has at present three groups who meet together to study missions and participate in mission projects. Bible Study is also an important part of what we do.

Women on Mission is an adult group which meets once a month to learn about missionaries worldwide, to pray for missionaries, and to encourage giving to missions at home and abroad. We use the publication Mission Mosaic to guide us in our study of missionaries.

Women on Mission also participate in mission projects.  In May we planned and had a birthday party at Blue Ridge Health Care for all residents who had May birthdays. We are presently collecting items for the Cornerstone Ministries which is a ministry supported by the Raleigh Baptist Association. We are promoting this churchwide.

Baptist Men – This is the men’s mission organization of the church.   This group meets regularly for mission studies, to hear from guests who are knowledgeable about various aspects of missions work and to plan for future missions involvement.  Baptist Men have worked on missions projects such as disaster recovery, handyman projects, food distribution and many other activities.  One of the primary goals of Baptist Men is to create opportunities for Christian witness as we earn the right to be heard through service to others.
