Crabtree Valley Baptist Church – Raleigh NC

Welcome to Crabtree Valley Baptist Church

“We are in reality a product of Baptist life,…and it’s important for subsequent membership to be aware of the  heritage we have at this point.”  So said Roy J. Smith, a founding member of this Fellowship, in reference to the  fact that CVBC is the product of the God-given dream placed in the hearts of leaders of the Raleigh Baptist Association and the North Carolina Baptist State Convention.  The Association purchased a parcel of land in 1963 for a “new Baptist work” in northwest Raleigh.  CVBC was constituted on April 4, 1971, with 57 charter members.  After meeting for five years in the J. W. York School building, the congregation met in its new building at the corner of  Leesville Rd. (now Lead Mine Rd.) and North Hills Drive in northwest Raleigh on the parcel of land provided by the Association. The Church has assumed responsibility for itself from the beginning, but gratefully acknowledges the aid of the State Convention and Raleigh Baptist Association, both in terms of money and people.
